Widespread Severe Weather Nearing

On Sunday, July 12, 2015 the National Weather Service and the Storm Prediction Center joined forces to inform the public in the upper and lower Midwest to be aware of the brewing atmospheric conditions. Several tornado and severe thunderstorm watches have been posted for some areas of the upper Midwest. Meteorologist primary concern is that this system could evolve into a multi-day serve weather threat that could stretch from the upper parts of the Midwest into the Ohio Valley. Primary threats are all elevated according to multiple sources.

“We’re looking at heavy rain, possibly with intense lightning and strong winds through Tuesday,” explained Bonnie Schneider, meteorologist at The Weather Channel.

Media sources, The National Weather Service and the Department of Homeland Security is encouraging families and individuals to review their severe weather safety plans.
